As Time Goes By Photography | About
Owner/Photographer - Jean Bolam
In Business Since 2001.
Creating photo memories has been my passion since childhood.   I am a wife, a mother of two beautiful children, a pet mom to the best dog ever, and 4 felines of questionable character, and a vast assortment of fish (one aquarium is in my studio for the viewing pleasure of everyone).  My dedicated studio is in my home on the old west side of Naperville.
In a typical studio sitting, we shoot a few photos, then look at them on the computer to be sure we're getting what we want.  Then shoot some more until we have exactly what we want.  I never schedule more than two sittings a day to allow for all the time we need to get that perfect shot.  I often upload photos for online proofing and/or purchasing.   This allows you to take your time and gather input from others on your (and their choices).
I love doing location shoots out of doors.  Everyone is relaxed and happy, and the settings are beautiful.  There are several lovely parks very close to my studio, or I'm happy to come to your preferred location.
I am very skilled in photoshop and I am happy to touch up any portraits.  Acne, dark circles, wrinkles can be smoothed and boo boos covered up.  In addition, I can convert any photo to black and white, or sepia tone, and have a vast array of very cool digital effects that I'm happy to show anyone that would care to see them.   It also helps to see your photo with any changes applied before you decide which way to order it.  Minor touch ups are included, however major touch ups and head transplants (to have everyone looking their best in group shots) are an extra charge.
I have a masters degree in Computer Science, and undergraduate degrees in Database and in Business.  Prior to opening my studio I worked for Lucent Technologies for 18 years as a project manager and database designer and programmer.     Prior to having children I travelled the world taking photographs and scuba diving.  Underwater photography is a passion.
In addition to taking photographs, I also restore them as part of my business.  I am very skilled in photo restoration.  I love restoring old photos.  If I can't get it looking as if it was just taken, I can certainly improve the look of even the most badly damaged and faded old photos.  I'm happy to give free estimates for all photo restorations.
To contact me, you are welcome to call or email.  I don't interrupt sittings to answer the phone, so email is very handy.  You are welcome to also leave a message.
